This is a school of the Spirit! When the Holy Spirit manifests, we step aside and let Him have His way. As a result, many morning devotional times last well into the afternoon, and classes for that day are canceled and made up later in the semester.

Included also in this section of the course is how to organize and present the variety of meetings a pastor conducts, with emphasis on small group dynamics. | Gospels Gospels From the synoptic gospels, the focus is on the teachings of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount and the Parables. The emphasis from the Sermon on the Mount will be on the moral and theological implications of Jesus’ message and the life application to the student. The emphasis on the Parables will be on the proper interpretation of these parables and understanding and applying Jesus’ teaching in each. From the Gospel of John, the seven “I AM’s” of Christ are examined in light of understanding the person and work of Christ. | 3 |
| General Epistles General Epistles This course covers the books of Hebrews through Jude. Both the historical context as well as relevance to present-day Christian living will be presented. The study of the Book of Hebrews focuses on the sufficiency of Christ and His work compared to the Old Covenant, with exhortations to run the race with eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. The Epistle of James is examined with a focus on the practical exercise of the Christian faith, rather than its doctrine. The study of I, II Peter emphasizes the warnings given believers about false doctrines and teachings. The study of John’s Epistles focuses on the instructions to the individual believer and the church that will enhance growth and spiritual maturity.
